Dinner at the Quay

Today was a really pretty day in Vancouver. The sun was shining, the weather was warm, and the kids were so happy to be outside.

We stopped by a really great park late in the afternoon and met our friend Kim and her son Kye for some play time. The park was very busy but lots of fun. For dinner we decided to do something a little different from our normal routine…we headed to the Lonsdale Quay to have dinner outside on the patio with a view of the ocean. Claire & Rhys really liked the change of scenery and so did we 🙂

Here is Jimmy with Claire & Rhys at the Quay with downtown Vancouver in the background. Claire is being a monkey lately and taking her shoes off whenever she can.

A new park

We like to check out new parks every now and then. Claire & Rhys absolutely love going to the park. They wonder around, pick things up, climb onto everything and have huge smiles on their faces the entire time. Getting back into the stroller for the adventure home is a whole other story!

Maple Wood Farms

The twins club we belong to had a Maple Wood Farms day mid-May. The forecast called for rain but thankfully it was wrong and we had dry weather- yay!

As a bonus my wonderful cousin, Leah, was in town with her three beautiful children and she came to the farm so we could have a visit. Thanks Leah- it was so nice to see you all 🙂

Claire and Rhys loved the cows, the goats and the baby chicks. They were allowed into the goat pasture and they loved it- Rhys ran through a mud puddle to go see the sheep in the neighboring pasture and Claire loved patting the goats.

One lady asked Jimmy if Claire & Rhys were twins…he answered ‘yes they are’. She then said ‘wow, that is pretty rare’. We had a giggle because she was about to see so many twins of various ages wondering around the farm.

We had a great day.

Papa Hanchar visits

My Dad drove from Alberta to deliver an amazing gift to us….a minivan! We are so grateful for my parents extremely generous gift.

I think Claire remembered her Papa from my parents last visit. She ran up to him when he came through the door and raised her arms. It definitely put a smile on my Dad’s face. so cute!

Claire & Rhys had such a  fun time with their Papa….

Predictably, Papa beat Rhys to nap time

…and so did I. Thanks for visiting Dad!

It is now fall

I really need to post more often because it is a lot of fun looking back at what I wrote.

My return to work is soon…7 weeks away! Jimmy will end his work and stay home with the kids. Funny how we would laugh about that being an option before having kids. It really is our best solution. How great for Claire & Rhys!

The babies are now 9.5 months old. Time is flying by. I can’t believe they are so mobile already….crawling, walking with furniture to hold, up- down- all around- constant motion. It is great but has its complications like keeping an eye on two movings babies. We have had to baby proof our house quickly and we still have more to do. It is a big job!

I love fall….the leaves, cool weather, comfort food, being able to bake without cooking us in our tiny condo. yay fall!

Claire & Rhys – 8 months

Spring time

Spring is here.

I woke up with Claire to a beautiful sunny day. I heard birds chirping outside and Jimmy making a pot of coffee while Rhys slept in the other room.
Perfect!
